On Monday, April 18, 2016 the Focus On Haiti Initiative hosted a discussion with Haitian presidential candidate Jovenel Moïse. The event continued a broader discussion began on September 15, 2015, when the Focus On Haiti Initiative and other partner organizations hosted a townhall meeting of five Haitian presidential candidates at the George Washington University, which Mr. Moïse was not able to attend.
The event featured a short introduction by the candidate followed by a discussion period with students and audience members. At the event, Dr. Robert Maguire and an audience gathered at the Elliott School of International Affairs were able to discuss politics and development, among other topics, with the presidential candidate. The event was recorded by the PHTK campaign staff and the video is currently available on the campaign’s social media.
The event took place from 2:00pm-3:00pm at the Elliott School of International Affairs.
